The reason for this being that unlike YouTube, until March 2021, TikTok didn’t actually pay their users. But as of March 2021, TikTok has started something they call the “TikTok Creator Fund” where they have committed $231 million that will be paid to TikTok creators for the next 3 years.

- The creator should be at least 18 years old.
- The creator should have at least 1000 followers and at least 100,000 video views in the past 30 days.
- The creator’s account should not violate TikTok’s Community Guidelines and terms of service.

Now even though TikTok may or may not pay huge amounts to their creators, there are multiple other ways to earn money on TikTok.

Live Streams
Live Streaming is one of the fastest growing ways of content creation. Live Streams allow for a more personal way to connect to the audience in real time.
