How much do you make for 200K views on YouTube?
We all love enjoying content on YouTube, whether it’s educational videos or those cat videos you can’t get enough of, there’s a seemingly endless supply of content on YouTube just waiting for you to explore.
And at this point, almost everyone knows that YouTubers make money from their YouTube channel.
They’re not putting all that time and effort into creating their videos for no reason.
And trust us, YouTube pays well. If you have a big enough audience, of course.
In case you’ve been thinking of starting a channel, or maybe you already have a channel that isn’t yet monetized, you might’ve wondered just how much money do YouTubers make?
How much do YouTubers make?
If you don’t already know, YouTubers are paid per view. Not essentially per view, but they’re paid for every time an ad is shown on to a viewer. YouTube runs ads on the videos and pays money every time a viewer is shown an ad.
According to a variety of sources, YouTubers make anywhere between $0.01 – $0.03 per ad shown, which makes it about $0.003 – $0.005 per view with a maximum of $0.018 per view. Now, this might seem very little to some of you reading this, but this actually gets to a lot of money if you have a large enough audience.
This makes it about $3 to $5 for every 1000 views.
This makes starting a YouTube channel a great side hustle or if you have the potential to captivate a large audience, then doing YouTube can be a full time job that pays surprisingly well.
How much money is 100K views on YouTube?
Now that we know how much YouTubers make per view, we can estimate how much money is 100K views worth.
With $0.003 – $0.005 per view, a YouTuber can make anywhere between $300 to $500 for 100K views.
But these are just estimates and not 100% accurate as the actual payment a YouTuber gets depends on a lot of factors such as,
The number of viewers an ad is shown to.
- Ad Quality
- Number of clicks on the ad.
- Ad blockers
- Video length
All these factors affect the payout, and that’s why the actual payout a YouTuber receives can be a bit less or a lot more than the estimated payout.
You also need a minimum of $100 in ad revenue until you can actually withdraw it.
YouTube Partner Program
Even though YouTube pays quite well, you can’t just create a channel and start earning right away.
To start earning money from YouTube, you need to meet certain criteria, also known as the YouTube Partner Program.
Once you meet the minimum requirements to monetize your channel, you can apply to join the YouTube Partner Program and once you’re accepted into the program, you will gain access to all of YouTube’s monetization tools.
Minimum requirements to join the YouTube Partner Program
- Follow YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
- YouTube has certain policies on what content can and cannot be monetized on YouTube. Anything that violates the community guidelines or infringes copyright like a copyrighted video or copyrighted music cannot be monetized.
- Live in a country or region where YouTube Partner Program is available
- Have no active Community Guideline strikes on your channel.
- Have at least 1000 subscribers on your YouTube channel.
- Have more than 4000 public watch hours in the past 12 months.
- Have a linked AdSense account.
If your YouTube channel meets all these requirements, you can apply to join the YouTube Partner Program and monetize your channel.
If you’re unsure whether your channel meets these requirements, you can head over to YouTube Studio and click on monetization.
Here, you’ll see a checklist of all the requirements you have and haven’t met yet.
If you’re under the threshold, click on “Notify me when I’m eligible” to receive an email when you’re ready to start monetizing your channel.
These requirements are the reason why most of the people who start a YouTube channel quit, simply because there’s no sure way of telling how long it’ll take to meet these requirements to even start earning.
Until you meet the requirements, you’ll be putting a lot of time and effort into creating videos just to get no returns.
It can take anywhere between months to years to get to the point where your channel can be monetized.
But don’t worry if you’ve just started. There is a way to skip the entire waiting part and start earning from YouTube right away.
That’s all for today, stay tuned for more power packed content!
