How to check who has liked your YouTube video?

Everyone who owns a YouTube channel knows how important it is to engage with your community, keep track of your most loyal subscribers and make sure to keep your loyal subscribers coming back while also converting newer subscribers into loyal fans.

This is because YouTube likes to keep its users’ information private and thus, it keeps every user who likes your video anonymous.

And while there is no way to pinpoint the exact person who liked your video, there is still plenty of data you can gather about them using the Analytics section in YouTube Studio.

Seeing who liked your video using YouTube Analytics

Even though there is no way to know who liked your video, you can still get a rough idea of the people who like your video by using YouTube Analytics.

Here’s how to check your YouTube Analytics:

Step 1: Open YouTube and log into your account

The first step is to simply head over to YouTube and log into your account if you haven’t already. If you have multiple channels, make sure you’re logged into the one you want to check the Analytics of.

Step 2: Click on your Profile Picture and select “YouTube Studio”

YouTube Studio takes you to the newly updated YouTube creator dashboard. Recently, YouTube made quite a lot of changes to its creator dashboard and gave it a more refreshed look. It also made uploading, managing videos, checking analytics and customizing your channel easier by grouping all those features into a single page they call the YouTube Studio.

Step 3: Click on Analytic

On the left side, you’ll see a menu, look for “Analytics” in the menu and click on it. This will take you to the Analytics page.

Step 4: Check the Metrics

Under Channel Analytics, you’ll see these tabs: Overview, Content, Reach, Engagement, Audience, Revenue, Research. Here’s what the different tabs are for:

  • Overview

The Overview tab shows you a summary of how your channel and videos are performing. The key metrics card shows your views, watch time, subscribers, and estimated revenue.

  • Content

The Content tab gives you a summary of how your audience finds your content, what your audience is watching, and how they interact with your content.

  • Reach

The Reach tab gives you a summary of how your audience is discovering your channel. The key metrics card shows your impressions, impressions click-through-rate, views, and unique viewers.

  • Engagement

The Engagement tab gives you a summary of how long your audience is watching your videos. The key metrics card shows your watch time and average view duration.

  • Audience

The Audience tab gives you a summary of the sort of viewers watching your videos. The key metrics card shows your returning & new viewers, unique viewers, subscribers, and total members.

  • Revenue

If you’re in the YouTube Partner Program, the Revenue tab helps you track your earnings on YouTube. The key metrics card shows your estimated revenue, RPM, and playback-based CPM.

  • Research

The Research tab gives you a summary of what your audience and viewers across YouTube are searching for.

What you’re looking for here is under the Engagement tab. This is where you’ll find the number of likes/dislikes on your video(s) presented by date as a line chart. There are other types of charts too that can help you visualize the metrics better. You’ll also be able to see the geographic data of likes and dislikes. 

Seeing who liked your video using Comments

There is another way of estimating who liked your video on YouTube which is by checking the comments on that particular video. Just by reading through the comments, you’ll get a general idea of who has liked your video. There’s a very high chance that anyone who has commented something like “Love your videos” or “Love your content” has also liked your video.
